got a sony dcr pc100 and i want to record from a vhs cassette by the video player. the manual says it,s possible but it won,t work (and it,s not very well explained). i use a scart on the video player which is connected to the audio/video on the minidv. i don,t get picture on the mididv tho... usually i would set a video player to aux but it doesn,t say anything about it in the maual. please help!

have you tried tuning your VCR?
rig you PC100 up press play and tune your VCR until you see your footage.

Let me get this straight - you want to record FROM the VHS video recorder TO the mini-DV camcorder? Why?
It sounds like you have the gear set up to record FROM the camera TO the VCR, which is fine and should work okay. I don't think the camcorder will record from the VCR, they are not designed to do this.

I also have a PC100 and I use the same method as you BUT MINE WORKS!
I'm not being funny but maybe the camera is faulty????

I've enabled DV-in on my camcorder.
as far as I know DV-in comes in through the Firewire .So to record from VCR you'd need a firewire card on you're vcr.
I'm not sore about this,
worth checking your manual.
